So you know what? Eff that scale. I'm done with it. I am OFF that bitch for 30 days. My next weigh in will be March 8, 2016. Who cares about 4 pounds? I'm a flipping RUNNER. I ran for 26 minutes last week, and you know what? I'm gonna run for 27 minutes tomorrow. I lift all kinds of heavy shit now, and I could barely lift the EMPTY BARBELL 1 year ago. 4 lbs or not, I could NEVER have done that before. Today is over, tomorrow is another day, and I am TIRED of feeling sorry for myself and getting caught up in what that scale has to tell me. I have a long list of non-scale victories and I am checking those suckers off one by one, so I do not need to worry about the number on that scale. I don't want to get up in validating my health and wellness journey by what the scale says vs. how I FEEL.
I haven't shared this yet, because I can't quite count it as a completed NSV yet, but I had a follow up at my doctor a few weeks ago and my glucose was NORMAL at 88 (last time it was checked in Sep 2015 it was 86, so that means it has been normal for almost 6 months. It was 100 in Mar 2015) and my A1C (average long term blood glucose) is ALMOST NORMAL at 5.8. My A1C was 6.2 last time it was checked in Sept, same in Mar). An A1C of 5.7 or less is normal. What?? I can't believe I"m almost there. AND my Blood Pressure was the lowest it has been since he had to start me on BP meds. I am monitoring it at home for a few weeks, and then he thinks I might be able to stop my BP meds. My lovely doc said I'm dangerously close to being almost completely healthy. Those two things right there, were my two biggest health goals, and I am so close to checking them off my list.
So, yeah. Screw that scale. Big things are happening around here, and they've got nothing to do with THAT number. I won't let it derail any more of my great days. So, like the quote up there says...when we have a day like today, and there will always be days like today, just believe in yourself a little more. Don't ask a lot, in fact, maybe ask a little less, and pour that energy into lifting yourself up. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I won't squander these precious days feeling anything less than fantastic, grateful and in awe of this life!
